The Chicopee Bank Building is located on Main and Elm Streets at the southeast corner of Court Square. The bank was built about 1888, in Romanesque Revival style designed by architect Frederick S.Newman. It is four storeys high and has four recessed bays on Elm Street, five on Main Street, and a pavillion at the corner, topped by a copper turret. The facade is made of red bricks with detailed brownstone trim between floors and at the cornices. It is significant for its architecture as well as its historical importance in banking and economics.
