Beautiful, historic marker located in front of the Haddon Township Board of Education Building. The horizontal marker had silver, raised letters and is held low to the ground in a four-legged metal stand. The marker is located at 500 Rhoads Blvd. at the intersection of Rhoads & MacArthur Blvds. The marker reads:
Welcome to
HISTORIC SADDLERTOWN
Founded Prior to the Civil War
1861 - 1865
Here is the Site of an Original Land Grant

About the Year 1837 in the State Of
Maryland
Dedicated 1976
After reading the website sited below, I noticed a disparity in the placement date of the marker. The sign says dedicated in 1976 but the Haddon Twp. Historical Society website says it was placed in 1978. Below is an image of the excerpt.
Group that erected the marker: Haddon Township Historical Society
