There are eight rows of stone seats in this amphitheatre seating about 50 persons per row. It is in a spectacular position on the Heights of Abraham overlooking the River Derwent valley and to the town of Matlock. The lower rows can be reached by a series of steps running down the middle of the rows, were a small flat area has been laid out as a performance platform. there is no side access to this level so the performers have to use the steps.
