Located on a pedestrian path near the 65th Street/ Traverse Road overpass (See (visit link) ), this manhole cover reads "Manhattan Born" but notice that the "N" in "Manhattan" is also the same "N" in "Born". An internet search did not reveal any information about the design...but it did raise this interesting article about how New York City manhole covers are made cheaply (and unsafely) in India (visit link)
