Founded locally in 1913, SOKOL FORT WORTH is the oldest continually operating gymnastics club in Tarrant County. We have been the home to countless aspiring and talented young gymnasts, including the alternate to the 1960 Rome Olympics; and the host club of numerous prestigious events, such as the 1979 World Championships held in Fort Worth.
SOKOL FORT WORTH and our staff are dedicated to the healthy growth and development of all individuals through physical activity. Our senior staff has over 100 years of combined gymnastics coaching/teaching experience. Many of our staff are USAG Certified or on-track to become certified, many also hold Bachelor’s Degrees in Physical Education and related fields. These warm, caring and highly qualified individuals are dedicated to making your child’s experience safe, fun, and rewarding.
Using gymnastics instruction, we encourage pre-schoolers, children, and even adults to become more physically, socially, and mentally active.
SOKOL is inclusive, believing that each child is special and talented. Fostering a true sense of self-worth and high self-esteem, we promote full participation in classes, Slets (Sokol competitions), and exhibitions regardless of age, experience, or ability level.
In our pre-school and children’s programs, our instructors create a positive, safe, and fun environment above all else... because at SOKOL we know that when children feel secure and enjoy themselves, learning comes naturally.
Above all else, the SOKOL philosophy emphasizes the recreational aspects of gymnastics and fitness that children may carry throughout their entire lives... becoming healthy, socially active, well rounded young men and women.
Our programs are based in a spacious facility in Northwest Tarrant County. In addition to a state-of-the-art gymnastic and activity center, it houses a world-renowned museum chronicling the journey of Czech people in Fort Worth and the history of SOKOL locally.
Our 8,000+ square foot facility is available for rental to members and non-members It seats up to 400, and is perfect for quincineras, family reunions, and wedding receptions. Full-service bar available.
We are a non-profit organization, supported by the donations and dues/fees paid by our members.
We are governed by a voluntary Board of Directors, which is elected every September by our membership. We would like to thank our Board members for their dedicated service to SOKOL FORT WORTH and its programs.
