The Chapel of the Cross was constructed between 1850 and 1852 on the Annadale Plantation near Madison, MS. The church was active from its completion in 1852 until it closed in 1903. The church was reactivated in 1911 and has remained open since. The cemetery has served the Annadale Planation and surrounding around since the Chapel of the Cross opened. Members of the Johnstone Family, the original owners of the Annadale Plantation, were laid to rest here.
