Phnom Penh has a surprisingly large number of good vegetarian restaurants. I attribute this to the large number of NGO workers resident in the city, and in the Kingdom. This particular restaurant lies back from the Mekong River along a side street. Surrounded as it is by a high wall it is not overly visible, however, after you enter through the small doorway you will be agreeably surprised.

The restaurant has maybe 20 tables, and a half dozen booths along its far wall. The menu is not overly large, and it is also replete with 'fake meat' dishes. While this practice is common in Cambodia, I myself find it a little off putting, the fake meat is invariably realistic. For example, my 'Mercy Burger' had a tofu pattie which resembled a near uncooked piece of meat.

Food orders are made by writing the menu item number of a pad provided. As this place seems to cater largely to young Cambodians (several universities nearby), expect the food to be spicy, and request less spiciness if you are not sure of your spiciness tolerance factor. (Some Cambo dishes are very spicy).

Good food, but, to be frank, the ambiance could stand an additional point or two. Low cost, a few dollars will buy you a large meal.
