[NL] De watertoren van Sleidinge werd in 1961 gebouwd volgens ontwerp van architect F. De Visscher. Er kan in deze toren van 48m niet minder dan 1000m² water, ofte 1.000.000 liter!
Het water komt uit het waterspaarbekken van Kluizen via een ondergrondse leiding langs het Zwaantje.
De toren bevoorraadt:

2) Belzele
3) Wippelgem
4) Evergem
5) Industrieterreinen Durmakker en Westbeke
6) Waarschoot (in noodgeval)

Een watertoren met één kuip gevoed door een hogedrukleiding Dit is de meest klassieke watertoren. De kuip wordt voortdurend bijgevuld met water vanuit de (hogedruk) toevoerleiding. De verbruikers krijgen water via de distributieleidingen. De gemotoriseerde afsluiter wordt automatisch geregeld zodat de kuip op elk moment (onafhankelijk van de vraag) de gewenste hoeveelheid water bevat. Deze automatische regeling gebeurt via een programmeerbare automaat of PLC. De PLC berekent voortdurend de ideale stand van de afsluiter (regelklep) aan de hand van de signalen die hij ontvangt.
[En] The water tower of Sleidinge was built in 1961 according to designs by architect F. De Visscher. In this 48m high tower the storage is 1000m ² of water, or 1.000.000 liter!
The water comes from the water reservoir of Kluizen through an underground pipe along the locality ‘Het zwaantje’.

A water tower with a tank fed by a high pressure line. This is the most classic water tower. The tub is constantly replenished with water from the (high pressure) supply line. Consumers get water through the distribution pipes. The motorized valve is automatically controlled so that the tub contains (irrespective of the question) the desired amount of water. This automatic control is via a programmable machine or PLC. The PLC continuously calculates the ideal position of the valve (damper) based on the signals it receives.
