Marietta has been a town under water multiple times in its history. As part of the bicentennial for Marietta, and in recognition of the 100th anniversary of GSUSA both in 2012, this waypoint depicts the major floods that have touched this town in the past. These two plaques identify two major floods, yet the town and the building remain. Shank's Tavern has a long history dating back to 1814.

Take the time to explore other areas around town, including the Heritage trail geocache game by GSTroop 235.
