A small slate plaque located on the town wall near a small green area in Conwy. The plaque was erected to commemorate the granting of the Royal charter to the town of Conwy on 1284.

The text of the plaque reads:

This plaque was erected to celebrate
the
700TH ANNIVERSARY
of the
GRANTING OF THE CHARTER
TO CONWY
by EDWARD I. 8th SEPTEMPER 1284
1284 - 1984

I doubt that there were many locals celebrating way back in 1284!
Type of Historic Marker: Slate plaque.
