Water pump in Paço, a small parish in Lourinhã, Portugal.
This water pump has a large wheel that when rotates would pump the water from the well underneath.
This water was used both for people and animals. The nearby spout where people used to get the water was replaced by a modern tap and connected to the Municipal Water supply but the nearby water drinker is still in use (even if today horses are mostly used for recreation).
The pump would also supply water for the nearby wash house.
