"Recipient of the Gold Star, Capt. Stephen Frank was one of two soldiers killed on April 29, 2005, when an improvised explosive device detonated while they were inspecting a truck at a checkpoint. Bill Frank, father, said that his son helped save the lives of more than 40 soldiers who were building a camp nearby."
Inscribed on the memorial:
"The long gray line has never failed us. Were it to do so, a million ghosts in olive drab, in brown khaki, in blue and gray, would rise from their white crosses thundering those magic words. Duty, Honor, Country." ~ General Dougls MacArthur
