The St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran congregation, then known as Evangelisch Lutherischen St. Peters Gemeinde was founded February, 1860 by German immigrants. The congregation is affiliated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The current church building was designed by architect Andrew Elleson in an Italianate Gothic style. The brick church building was constructed in 1885. The distinctive church building features spires of unequal height. The church building is good condition and continues to serve its congregation. Originally the services were in German and then English now services are conducted in English and Spanish.
