Once a famous Abbey, founded on 10 September, 1120 by Robert Fitz Martin. Construction continued through to the 16th century. After the dissolution of the monasteries in 1536, the abbey closed. For a time, it became a private mansion. It is now a glorious ruin.

Saint Dogmael was a 6th century Christian Saint, reputed to be the cousin of St David, Wales' patron saint.

Admission is free.

A small amount of parking is available onsite. Alternatively there is a free car park in town.
