I first went to Mr C's to get some drumsticks a while back. I found them friendly and knowledgable. I then got into guitar (which is their specialty) and found myself going there more often. Again, I found them to be friendly and knowledgable, offering me advice on anything from playing style to tuning. My most recent story was a "stringing issue" I had and they fixed it for me and charged me nothing inspite of the time it took. Hey, mom and pop shops rock. This store sells everything from guitars to sheet music. They give lessons from local pros and repair almost any problem. I'd go to them for anything.
