Freeport Beach is jointly managed by the North East Borough and Norh East Township and is located about 1.5 miles north of the Borough right on Lake Erie. The beach is staffed during the summer time with fully certified life guards and has a concession stand with restrooms for public use. There are several pavilions and a playground that everyone can use for family events on a first come first serve basis from sunrise to sunset.
The beach surface was not very well maintained when we were there but there had been a pretty bad storm a few days before. There was a lot of wood that had washed ashore but had not yet been cleaned up.
