A plaque dedicated to 'Professor' Walter Beaumont near the entrance to the pier in Llandudno.

'Professor' Walter Beaumont was a professional diver & showman, who gave regular exhibitions of his talents from the pier, between 1895 & 1909. He gave underwater displays in a tank in the Pier Pavilion's 'Egyptian Hall'. In 1903 after assisting with the rescue of 113 people off the coast, he was presented with an award by the people of Llandudno.

The plaque is bi-lingual, the English text read:

WALTER BEAUMONT
1855 - 1924
High-diver on pier.
Settled in Llandudno in 1895. Special presentation
made to him by townspeople in 1903 to
commemorate his selfless acts of
saving lives in Llandudno Bay.
