Terminal 1 of the Shanghai Pudong International Airport is the major hub for China East Airlines. It is a transfer point for many flights.

Opened in 1999 Shanghai Pudong International Airport covers 15 square miles east of Shanghai. There are currently two major passenger terminals. This is Terminal One.
The process for transferring to another international flight is confusing. And, unlike the Beijing Airport, one is actually required to exit the secure area and reenter, thus making it possible to go outside the terminal building (to obtain GPS coordinates) but it is unclear whether one can actually leave the airport itself.
The terminal is spacious and clean, but not well air conditioned, has few navigational aids in any language other than Chinese, and few options for eating. This really is China!
The international clock is above the entrance/exit to the security area.
