The Mostyn family were the local landowners in Llandudno and had a hand in the building of many of the buildings in Llandudno during the Victorian period of its history.
The Mostyn Gallery was officially opened by Lady Henrietta Augusta Mostyn in 1901. Initially is showed the works of local artists but later expanded its range to more exotic artwork.
The building was then used as a drill hall during WW1 and then was used for a number of commercial functions.
The building was returned to its original function as a gallery in 1978.
There is a red plaque next to the entrance dedicated to Lady Henrietta Augusta Mostyn.
