History
Established in 1960
Trails Cafe is a well-known name and business in the Holton community for more than 40 years. It's original opening happened in the 1960s under ownership of Mr. George Weidner. In 1987, John and his parents re-opened the business after a few years of being closed. John and Cindy purchased the business in 2003.
Meet the Business Owner: John Cindy S.
This owner partnership is shared by husband and wife, John and Cindy Stavropoulos. John's experience goes way back when he was a child in his father's restaurants. He remembers wrapping potatoes in order to get a new pair of shoes. Good work ethic values. He has many many years of experience in every aspect of the restaurant business. A lover of cooking, food, and creativity in every project, Cindy, on the other hand, has gained actual restaurant business just since she and John purchased it in 2003. She does have a 5 year stint as a teenager at A&W as a carhop & assistant manager AND actually has brought that experience and memories with her for the front of house employees. She says, it's like riding a bicycle...you don't forget. Her degree is in Social Work which helps a great deal in the human resource department. Trails Cafe was recently invited to participate among 13 other NE KS restaurants in the March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction. It was a tremendous honor .
