Painted quilt block on north side of Highway US58 just east of where US421 splits off heading north. Calling it "Diamond in the Gap" (until better information available) since US58 is heading towards Cumberland Gap to the west. Pattern is a central green diamond on a red vertical stripe with green outlined "mountains" on a blue sky. Block is showing signs of adverse weathering.

Update: Found as "Diamond Stripe Quilt Square" in a 90 degree rotation over on the Appalachian Quilt Trail website for Grainger County, TN. All other reference infomation unavailable. (Like my naming better.)

Your Visit:
Heading to Cumberland Gap National Park for a steep hike. Believe that I have already taken photos for this quilt block, but don't see where I created waymark, so addressing today.
