This decorative brickwork and time capsule was commissioned by the Boulder County Centennial-Bicentennial Commission. The brickwork is in the design of the logo of the United States of America Bicentennial star. The capsule honors both the bicentennial of the United States of America and the centennial of the State of Colorado. Oddly, it was buried August 6, 1977 (which would make a bit of sense if you wanted to gather items from the Centennial-Bicentennial celebration) and is to be opened July 4, 2075. Hmmm...
