Prepostska jaskyna Ak ste uz niekedy Bojnice navstivili, mohli ste si vsimnut, ze historicka cast mesta lezi na kopci. Ten je zaujimavy tym, ze ho tvori makky travertin, ktory casto vytvara jaskyne a pri svojom "raste" dobre konzervuje vsetko, co na nom zostane dostatocne dlho lezat. V oblasti Bojnic navyse vytvoril kaskady so skalnymi prevismi, cim ponukol ubytovanie nasim prapredkom.

Az v roku 1926, bojnicky prepost a archeolog - amater Karol Anton Medvecky dal odstranit rokmi nanosene smetie a zacal kopat.

Velke kosti mamutov, zubrov, nosorozcov, ci jaskynnych medvedov naznacuju, ze tunajsi obyvatelia tvorili dobre organizovanu lovecku spolocnost, tvoriacu pravdepodobne hned niekolko rodov.

Nuz, aj Vam teda prajem uspesny lov!

EN If you have already visited Bojnice, you probably seen, that historical part of town is lying on the hill. This hill was created by fluffy travertine, rock, that use to be penetrated by various holes, cornices and caves. The 11m long, tight and low hole in Bojnice travertine used to be just a shelter for guards and shelpherds for ages.

Just in 1926, Karol Anton Medvecky, priest and archaelogist - amateur, decided to cleanup the cave from garbage and started to dig. He discovered important habitation from early paleolit, as confirmed by Lubor Niederle and Karel Absolon. More than 3000 artefacts were found directly in cave or nearby, including big bones of mammoths, bisons, rhinoceros and bears. It means, that cave was probably inhabited by well-organized group of sapient hunters.

So, let me wish you good luck and successful hunting!
