These gates are on the Smithsonian Art Inventory Register and are described therein as: Bivalve gateway with sandstone pillars is flanked by fixed fences that gradually diminish in height toward the outer edges. Vertical bars are capped with segmental arches in which a stylized floral form appears. This floral form repeats in the main arch over the gate and in the columns which flank it.
