The grave of this Revolutionary War veteran rests in the quiet town of Abbottstown, just off the Lincoln Highway, at their center circle. There are several Revolutionary War veteran graves located here amongst the early townspeople.

Many residents of this early town were German immigrants. Many of the headstones are in German, including this one. I was able to translate some if it which reads "Here Lies the Body of", then the soldiers name along with some dates and other incomprehensible writing. There is a D.A.R. marker at the grave, which reads: Revolutionary Soldier Jacob Wiester (Wist) 1741 - 1803 Placed by Fort Hand Chapter, D.A.R.. I was unsuccessful in my search to uncover information about this veteran.
This is a cemetery, albeit it small, worth visiting. Parking is available at the rear of the church, across the tiny street.
