This 1966 Chevy school bus has been transformed into a Route 66 Museum.

Filled with Route 66 history, this school bus was designed by artist Bob Waldmire. It is located at the Illinois Route 66 Hall of Fame and Museum, 10 W. Howard St., Pontiac, IL.
The bus has a hand-built wooden camper deck on the roof...and even a back porch. The bus is filled with Route 55 mementos from the artist's travels in the bus. The artist also has a 66 foot Route 66 mural in Pontiac.
The bus can be visited M-F 9 am - 5 pm, Sa-Su 10 am - 4 pm in the Summer. Call 815-844-4566 for visitor information in the off season.
