Glen Loch covers 264 acres in Irvine Park. The Chippewa Lumber and Boom Company built the Glen Mills dam and later donated use of the lake.

Between 1906 and 1912, the boom company and business owner William Irvine donated 185 acres of land for the surrounding park, as a $100,000 endowment for maintenance and future improvements.

"Rumble Bridge" is nearby. It is a long, narrow, steel bridge built in 1914 to cross a deep ravine in Irvine Park. William Irvine paid for the project so visitors could get to the north end of the park.
