The Lakeshore Drive Drive bridge was built circa 1935 by the Metropolitan Trust Company which managed the development of the Lakewood Development housing project which was originally conceived by Mr. Justin Matthews. The bridge was designed Metropolitan Trust Company's architect Frank Carmean. The bridge is one of only eight masonry arch bridges in Arkansas and spans 53 feet over a small ravine along Lake 3. The stone arch bridge is constructed roughly squared, uncoursed rubble and has a single arch. The bridge is now blocked off for vehicle traffic and is open to pedestrian traffic only.
