Long Description:

Town Hall of Trieste, the eclectic works of Giuseppe Bruni, who worked on it since 1872 till 1875. The building stands in the main town square of Trieste - Piazza Unità d'Italia (Unity of Italy Square) which is situated at the foot of the hill containing the castle of San Giusto and the square faces the Adriatic Sea. The square is often said to be Europe's largest square located next to the sea.

The building has an elaborate structure, formed by two lateral wings and a central body. The latter it was decorated and adorned with a clock tower, topped by two characters - Mikeze and Jakeze - that are part of the folklore of Trieste, that are the bronze statues, moving, fighting like a clapper on the bell tower and are playing every hour.
