To the left of the main lawn at Knebworth House are a group of carved wooden figures. The figures are a statue of the Victorian novelist and playwright, Sir Edward Bulwer Lytton, a statue of Lord David Lytton in a knight’s uniform, and a horses head. Additionally, there is a carved quill pen bearing the inscription “the pen is mightier than the sword”, but that is believed to be a temporary piece.

The pieces are formed by chainsaw, and were executed by resident wood carvers at Knebworth house.
