The Treaty Site History Center has chosen the energy efficient earth building to house their museum. It was designed by Minneapolis architects Boarman & Associates in 1989 and ground was broken three years later. The museum, located at Traverse des Sioux Park, officially opened in 1994 and contains displays highlighting the local history of the Dakota people, early explorers, fur traders and European-American settlers that came to this area. It is easily found on Hwy. 169.
Building options: Public building
