The truss railropad bridge was constructed more then 100 years ago - in 1899 - during railroad construction from Kolín to Cercany. In small town, Rataje nad Sázavou, the railroad had to get over Sázava river. Immediately behind the river a new tunel had to be dug. The truss bridge ranks among the railroaf bridges with longest span in the Czech Republic. The distance between abutmnents is 72.6 meters, i.e. 240 fts.
