This film depicts the moral rot that is starting to creep into British life just prior to the outset of World War 1. The film is set in Autumn 1913 at the estate of Sir Randolph Nettleby. A shooting party gathers at Nettleby’s house. The film contrasts the outward standards of the party, propriety, dress etc, with the various affairs that are being carried on discreetly.
The clips for this waymark are taken from the film as the guests arrive at the house. The arrivals are in reality at the front of Knebworth house. It is believed that the hunting scenes were also shot around the Knebworth estate, but are more difficult to track down.
