The Embassy Theater (formerly the Emboyd Theater) is in downtown Fort Wayne, IN. It opened in 1928 as a movie palace and vaudville house, complete with a theater pipe organ.
In 1952, the theater was bought out and had its name changed to the Embassy.
The stage has seen its share of stars in its day. Bob Hope was emcee at the Emboyd at one time and performers like Lawrence Welk, Louis Armstrong, Victor Borge, Duke Ellington, and Red Skelton have all performed here.
The theater has been renovated throughout the years, but still remains a beautiful venue for the philharmonic, concerts, Broadway shows and other acts.
