Vernal, Utah is a remote town located along old US Highway 40 in northeast Utah. Billed as the the gateway to the Dinosaur National Monument in nearby Colorado, this is the heart of dinosaur country and one finds many dinosaur themed parks, restaurants, etc in the area.
Dinah, the pink dinosaur used to be the iconic figure for the Dine-A-Ville Motel. When the motel closed, the figure was moved to the east boundary of town to greet incoming visitors on old US Highway 40.
Today the motel sign is gone and she holds a sign that says "Vernal, Utah's Dinosaur Land".
