The original portion of the firehouse was built in 1910. The two story firehouse was built in a Romanesque Revival using red brick. The firehouse had an addition in 1956 which doubled the size of the firehouse. In 1973 a passageway was added connecting the firehouse to the adjacent city hall was added. In recent years the fire department has moved from the building and the building has been converted to city offices and the city council chambers.
