This Renaissance Revival/Beaux Arts style building was designed by the architectural firm of Peabody and Stearns in 1907 for the Union Trust Company. The highly decorative limestone facade features a grand arched entrance with bas relief sculptures on each corner above the arch. A windowed entrance is recessed in the arch. Above the door are a pair of cornucopias on either side of a oval shield. The interior of the arch is decorated with rosettes. The Beaux Arts style makes this building, at 1351 Main Street, one of the most distinctive structures in Springfield.
Over the years, the building's occupants have changed. Currently, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network - The Springfield Group occupies the building.
