This historic marker is the exact type seen in many southern and western New jersey towns. It is almost official even though we have no such program. I have passed by here countless times and only this time did I notice this faded tribute to history. It is across from the Board of Education Building at the intersection of Cooper Street and Front Street. The marker reads:
Licensed in 1688, it Carried
New Jersey Products To
Philadelphia. Terminus For
Stage Lines in 1751, For
Railroads in 1834 and 1854.
