Built and enjoyed by Bob Johston who willed the cabin to a boy scout troop in 1977. The cabin was regrettably destroyed by fire. A nearby outhouse speaks to the durability of log cabin construction.

Limited parking available at N 45° 41.949 W 122° 54.558. Cabin is located approximately 1/2 mile from parking coordinates. Easy hike along well established trail. At an elevation of 1125 ft. you will find a ruined log cabin set amongst the trees. The cabin bears a plaque to commemorate Bob Johnston who built and cared for this idyllic cabin, which came to belong to Boy Scout Troop 221.

Local folklore has it that the cabin was used by a drifter. Neighbors chased the him off after they experienced increased pilferage, but during the drifter's departure, the cabin mysteriously burned down.

Tucked into the woods nearby is the remains of the log cabin outhouse which stands as a testament to the endurance of log cabin construction.

There is also a really great geocache hidden nearby, (GC1KXDJ).
