The clock was presented to the Town of Simsbury by the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company in celebration of their 50th anniversary of providing fire service to the town. The clock was presented in 1994. The town hall moved to this location, the former high school beginning in 1992 after a major renovation to the building.
