This Earth globe kugel ball displays the Earth with major areas of population illustrated by lights as well as the ability of a small amount of water using surface tension to move heavy objects. The old Mile High Stadium in Denver used this same principle to move the stand from a baseball field to a foot ball field (visit link) . The kugel ball is made of polished granite.

Because Boulder has cold winters, the water is turned off to protect the apparatus from cracking due to freezes. Visit (visit link) for a video I shot of the globe in motion .
