I was fortunate to meet the Uniting Church's property officer when I was on the site taking photographs. He explained that the church was originally Congregational, then Methodist before becoming a Uniting church. It has served its parishioners continuously since 1872.
There is a date stone high above the entrance, inscribed A.D. 1872. It was originally at ground level but a gale destroyed the entrance wall & during reconstruction, the date stone was repositioned.
The church is not open for inspection but you are welcome to attend the Sunday service. The manse at the rear is now the church's hall.
