In Foxborough, along U.S. Route 1, is Gillette Stadium/Patriot Place, a combination of a sports and events venue and shopping center. Along the the north entrance (stadium side), there is a sidewalk where two manholes exist with a design unique to the location. The gps location and pictures are to the better face of the two.
The design shows the landmark feature of the stadium: an arch bridge to a stylized lighthouse, located at one end of the stadium. Below this design is the word, "DRAIN." At the bottom edge are the words, "Baron Foundry, Inc. Brockton MA." The face has a rough or worn appearance. The manhole cover could not have been there more than about 10 years, since the stadium has been in active use since 2002.
The particular manhole is located next to one of the signs to the stadium. The drain flows to the Neponset River, which is on the other side of the road. Part of the construction of the stadium, the river was relocated and landscaped to include wetlands and grassy areas.
