Marker was placed by the local City Hall and says:
"Igreja da Misericódira e Torre do Relógio
Igreja construida no inicio do Século XVII, tem no seu interior, de uma só nave, o tecto coberto com 55 painéis pintados que ilustram cenas do Antigo e do Novo Testamento e as paredes revestidas de azulejos "padrão", da mesma época. Do seu recheio artistico fazem párte algumas telas dos mestres Baltazar Gomes Figueira e Josefa d´Obidos. ladear este templo encontram-se a Torre do Relógio, mandada eregir pela Câmara Municipal em 1697, o qual durante muitos anos forneceu á povoação a marcação do ritmo da vida civil.

Church of Misericórdia and Clock Tower
This church was built in the beginning of the XVIIth century. Inside, the ceiling has 55 paintings representing the parts of the Old and New Testament. The walls glazed tile from the same century. It has also some paintings from Baltazr Gomes Figueira and Josefa d´Obidos. The clock tower was built in 1697. During several years this clock was the mark of the civil life rhythm.

L´Eglise de Misericórdia et la tour d´Horloge
L´eglise a été construite au début du XVIIe siecle. Le plafond est couvert de 55 panneaux peints, ilustrant des scéns de lÁncien et Nouveau Testament. Certains tableaux de Baltazar Gomes Figueira et Josefa d´Obidos, peuvent être vus également. Dans ce temple ce trouve la "Tour d´Horloge" erigée par la Mairir en 1697, que pendant de nombreuses années a été pour la population le repère du rythme de la vie civile.
