The relief covers one of the faceted sides of the granite columbarium. The figure is the wingless angel of death. The granite columbarium includes depictions of dolphin heads.

The architect, Peter J. Weber, designed the columbarium and included dolphin heads as both a play on Fisher's name and as a symbol of resurrection.

Inscription: R. W. Bock / Cast by J. Berchem Chicago signed Founder's mark appears.

"I had another interesting commission from the architect PJ Weber. It was for a door for a columbarium for a Mr. Fisher. I designed the door, which was cast in bronze, of a female figure in very high relief, heavily draped and holding an urn which is also draped. In the center of each side of the building at the top were dolphin's heads carved in stone and polished. I also designed a bronze casket to hold the ashes of the deceased Mr. Fisher. It was 6" x 10" in size and heavily decorated over the entire surface."

Richard Bock was a regular collaborator with Frank Lloyd Wright and is featured in several other local waymarks.

Lucius Fisher was the head of the Union Paper Bag Company and was the developer of the Fisher Building in downtown Chicago, also waymarked. Peter J. Weber was the architect of the northern addition to the Fisher Building. (source Ira Bach "Chicago's Public Sculpture" 1983)
