Redmond is sometimes known as the Bicycle Capital of the Northwest because it is host to the state's only velodrome (in Marymoor Park -- incidentally, this is another waymark, code WMBKWA) and an annual bike race through the city streets. There are numerous bike shops within Redmond's city limits, various sculptures and paintings of penny-farthing style bicycles dot the streets downtown, and bike lanes and unusual bike racks are everywhere. Despite this, the majority of Redmond residents use a car for most of their transportation needs.
The sign pictured can be found along Redmond Way, aka State Route 908, just before its T-junction with West Lake Sammamish Way Northeast.
