Seminole State Forest consists of 12,098 acres. There are more than 13 different natural communities in the forest, each with unique plants, animals and physical characteristics.
Drive in access requires a State Forest Use Permit. That will get you a combination to open the gate. Day use entrance fees are collected at self-service pay stations near the entrance gates. Day use is $1.00 per person children under 6 are free. There are also Camping fees if you choose to spend the night (see the fees picture).
At the main trailhead kiosk in the parking area you can get trail maps and other information booklets, including a Seminole State Forest Checklist of Birds.
The endangered Florida Scrub Jay has been seen in the forest. There is over 21 miles of hiking trails, 23 miles of horse trails, and off road bicycles are permitted on over 25 miles of designated open (named) roads and bike trails.
Note: Pets are allowed but they must be on a leash.
