The Simsbury Depot was built by the New Haven and Northampton Railroad sometime between 1873 and 1875. There is some discrepancy because it can be located on a map dated 1873 but records of the railroad indicate it was built in 1875. The brick depot was built in an Italianate style which was unusual for the era when most were built in a Victorian Gothic style. The depot has now been converted to a restaurant which altered the interior however the exterior appearance has been retained.
