Reka Vltava pramení nedaleko cesko nemeckých hranic.

Pramen je snadno prístupný z Kvildy po modré turistické znacce (zhruba 6 km), která je zároven cyklostezkou.

Skutecný pramen se nachází v neprístupném terénu.

V minulosti se zde nacházela chata Klubu ceských turistu. V soucasnosti jsou zde infotabule a prístrešek s lavickami a stolem.

U pramene stojí drevená socha ženské postavy s klícem, která je alegorií Vltavy. .
