This ruin is all that remains of a Medieval castle which is steeped in history & folklore.
The walls and embankments that are visible today are from the 1260s and were most likely built by order of Gruffydd II ap Madog, the ruler of the kingdom of Powys.
The paths to the castle from Llangollen are well waymarked and there are excellent views of the surrounding area from the ruins.
